On top of the state of the art design of DS200 Public Exchange, management utilities of the system are of equal adequacy. The term management includes operation, maintenance and monitoring of the system from local or particularly remote locations by the trained personnel of telecom operator.
Today, operation, maintenance and monitoring of exchanges from remote locations are neither big deals nor technological achievements. Controlling exchanges from central offices through IP networks is the fashion which can be realized by Karel DS200 as well. This might be applicable for the operators that are wealthy enough to carry their IP infrastructures to individual switches. However, it is still odd to expect many operators to do so especially for sparsely populated areas. For those operators that do not have IP networks reaching to their exchanges which are distributed all over the sparsely populated areas of country, Karel implements IP over E1 technology. Regardless of the number and types of telephone exchanges in between, KAREL carries IP packages through the E1 trunks. In other words, operators using E1 trunks are no more concerned to set up a separate network for:
Transmission of billing data and call records to central |
Monitoring the system performance as well as all minor and major alarms from the central office |
Delivering SMS and e-mail messages to predefined persons in case of an alarm |
Programming, operation and maintenance of remote exchanges from the central office |
